“Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT
If you’re like me, your social media stream has been flooded with posts and status updates about New Year’s resolutions for the past two weeks. We have friends looking to get into shape, pay off debt, start businesses, and more in 2015. Whether we put deadlines on our goals or not, I’d venture to say you and I also have dreams for the year ahead. Whatever comes to mind to do, we find ourselves running the idea by our friends, asking family to hold us accountable, and maybe even challenging others to join us in the race.
But imagine having a dream but no community to give you feedback or cheer you on. How would it feel to long for 2015 to be different but thinking it won’t happen because no one will invest in you? What would life be like if you read the verse about two people being better than one and wondered if God is good because no one is available to help you succeed? If you’d been in the Church Online chat room during the holiday season, you’d know from attendees’ comments and prayer requests that having people who ask how your day went or who offer to pray with you is not the norm in the lives of many individuals.
[bigquote citation="@danalbyers"]The good news is that God provided a solution to the heartache many are feeling right now, and that solution is community.[/bigquote]
Our LifeGroup leaders at Church Online are people who love on others out of the overflow of community they have in their lives.
As you reflect on how blessed you were in 2014 and joyfully anticipate all that God will do in and through you in 2015, will you consider making yourself available to encourage and pray with others who no longer want to do life alone? Starting a LifeGroup this month could be one of the best blessings God has in store for you this year!
